I thought the terrible font on the Wall in the front of Dillon’s Burgers and Beers on Dillon Road in Desert Hot Springs was a mistake.  Apparently it’s their thing.

How do I know it’s intentional?  Because it’s on their next location they are prepping right now for their opening in Morongo Valley.

Perched at the top of the grade just as you enter into Morongo Valley is a gas station and the future site of Dillons Burgers and Beers.

Their coming location up there is inside what looks like it used to be a house that had a commercial kitchen added to the back of it.  With several zigs and zags and a sliding glass door on the side of the back half of the back portion of the structure it looks like it will work as another restaurant location.

There does not appear to be any room at all towards the front of the building for dancing or bands but they might get creative with the space and make something work out.

There are beautifully stained wood rafters that run over top of and that wrap around, the deck in a wagon wheel spoke kind of design at the front of the building.

Unfortunately though, several of the old window locations have been boarded up with plywood and caulked in as if there was never any glass there to begin with.

The parking lot is modest and leaves a lot to be desired but it has potential.  I’m sure they will send a gardener through the lot to trum the weeds before they have their grand opening.  Just don’t take your low rider through the West entrance off of the side street or else you may lose your muffler.

Look, it’s not the best building in that section of San Bernardino County but I’m sure Dillons owners will make do with it just fine.

For some of those DHS residents who are on the Western edge of our city of Desert Hot Springs it honestly looks like it might be closer to run up to morongo valley to get a dillons burger.  It jus might be quicker to go up hill instead of going down to the south west end of town for a sandwich and brew.

It would most likely be cooler too as Morongo Valley tends to be lower in temps than DHS is by 10 degrees on average.

The paint scheme on the building up the hill is virtually the same as it is in DHS (down the hill) and with any luck the quality of food will be just as good as it is on Dillon Rd. in DHS.

Look for them to open up there in the next 6 months.  I would guess that’s their time frame based upon the work that’s left.

Their website is here.
