“RIVERSIDE – Warning that igniting fireworks can lead to threats to life and property, Riverside officials on Monday, June 17 urged the public to enjoy city-sponsored shows instead of illegally setting off pyrotechnics on their own.”

They can warn all they want but it’s not going to fully stop people from lighting off big fireworks in Desert Hot Springs this year or for any year to come for the foreseeable future.

Every year on the 4th of July when the city of DHS holds their own fireworks, and even when they don’t, people lite off their own fireworks show.  And because our city is so peaceful and quiet up here it’s really loud most of the time the cracks are occurring.

This year the city of DHS is not giving us a show so it’s likely that people will only be emboldened more to light off pyrotechnics of just about all sizes for hours this Independence Day 2019.

Here’s what we’re not going to see up here in the Spa City.

No fancy show with music or a finale is going to don our skyline in early July 2019.

Instead we’re going to have an all night random boom and burst free for all that everyone will hear.  And they will hear more of it beginning days before and ending days after the 4th of July.

Here is what it will be like.

Happy 4th of July Desert Hot Springs.  If you are going to break the rules, do so responsibly.
